Cocktail At Drifthouse

“Some beach,
Somewhere,
There’s a big umbrella casting shade over an empty chair.”

While Blake Shelton was likely not talking about the Garden State, you can live this summer scene at multiple beach bars along the Jersey Shore. There’s nothing better than basking in the sun and salty air while kicking back with a cold one, or maybe a festive margarita, and taking in gorgeous ocean and bay views.

Drifthouse by David Burke, Sea Bright

In its fourth summer season, Drifthouse by David Burke sits on the Atlantic coast, above Driftwood Cabana Club.

“The Jersey Shore is many things to many people, including myself. As a teen I worked as a lifeguard on this very beach,” said Burke, who grew up in Hazlet and now lives in Atlantic Highlands. “The pounding surf, the salty air, our cocktails and menu, the vibe, the magic – it’s all here!”

The bar has an open deck with beach views, where you can feel the ocean breeze while sipping cocktails like the Pisco Passion (Pisco 100, Benedictine, passionfruit puree, fresh lemon juice, Angostura bitters and lemon-lime soda, served in a goblet garnished with fresh mint).

The restaurant specializes in coastal Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, with fresh lobsters on deck from their tank and fresh oysters from a custom “oyster spa.”

Happy Hour takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays all summer long and features live music, as well as a special bar menu and drink prices.
